GivingTuesday 2024 – Support the WHWC Scholarship Fund!

Since 2011 the West Hartford Women’s Chorale has offered an annual scholarship to student musicians graduating high school and going on to pursue music. The scholarship was started to support music education in our community. Over the years we’ve expanded from only West Hartford applicants to applicants from the Greater Hartford Region.

We know our past recipients have gone on to further their music education and several have planned to become music educators. Michael B., our 2018 recipient, was a baritone saxophone player in the Hall High School Jazz Ensemble, who has chosen to major in music education at UCONN because of his great high school music teachers and band director.

The WHWC supports young musicians as an important way to give back to our community. We’d like to continue supporting more student musicians like Michael.

This year our goal is to raise $3000 for Giving Tuesday 2024!

Last year, you helped us offer two $1500 scholarships and one $1000 scholarship. We expect to have another large number of applicants this year.

To offer these scholarships in 2025, we must raise funds from our members, friends, and supporters. Please donate and ask your friends to join you.

You can help ensure the future of an aspiring future music maker. All donations between November 9 and December 3rd will go to fund our scholarships.
