DIVERSITY, EQUITY & INCLUSION
The West Hartford Women’s Chorale believes that music is the universal language. Music has the power to unite all people from every culture, race, socio-economic status, age, ability, religion, sexual orientation, and gender identity. Music unites the members of our chorale and connects us to our larger communities. We study music from a variety of composers, musical genres, cultures, and religious traditions from around the world and share this rich variety in our concerts.
As a non-auditioned group, we have been inclusive and welcoming to all women from our inception. The West Hartford Women’s Chorale is a non-profit arts organization run entirely by volunteers. Our members serve on our board of directors, various committees, and participate in community activities and performances. All women are welcome to participate in the chorale and its projects; none are turned away due to lack of funds.
As we collaborate to learn our music and develop our skills, we value and support the unique talents, abilities, and experiences of all of our members. The West Hartford Women’s Chorale pledges to continue celebrating and enriching our diversity as we listen to our community. We welcome all those who wish to raise their voices together in song.
